KART – The interactive training system for KAESER Kompressoren SE
Initial Situation
KAESER Kompressoren SE, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of compressed air systems, was looking for a way to make technical training, service training, and product demonstrations more efficient and modern. Traditional presentations and training materials were no longer sufficient to effectively convey complex technical concepts. The company was looking for an interactive, digital tool that brings learning content to life—regardless of time and place.
Objective
Logan Five was commissioned to develop the KART (KAESER Augmented Reality Trainer)—a system that:
- Interactive explanations of compressor maintenance, operation, and construction.
- Uses AR technology to digitally overlay machines in the real world.
- Service and training teams are connected, and knowledge is shared in a standardized manner.
- Reduces complexity and makes technical content easy to understand.
- It works both offline and online—from the factory floor to international trade shows.
Strategic Approach
Logan Five adopted a concept that combines technology, pedagogy, and brand communication:
- AR Development: Creation of highly accurate 3D models based on real compressors, including animated functional demonstrations.
- User interface: Intuitive controls with clear icons and a logical structure—from individual components to the entire system.
- Educational approach: Incorporating information points, animations, and explanatory videos to make complex processes easy to understand.
- Technical implementation: WebAR-based, platform-independent, and installable without an app—for maximum accessibility.
- Corporate Integration: Visually and functionally consistent with the KAESER corporate identity, with a focus on quality, precision, and reliability.
Result
KART is part of the Hannover Fair Industry exhibition organized by KAESER Kompressoren SE:
- Increased efficiency: Training sessions can be conducted globally in a standardized, interactive, and resource-efficient manner.
- Innovation: KAESER positions itself as a technology leader—including in the transfer of technical expertise.
- Sustainability: No need to transport physical devices, resulting in lower material and energy consumption.
- Impact: High level of acceptance among trainers and participants; noticeably improved learning outcomes thanks to interactivity and visualization.
Conclusion
With KART, Logan Five has created a tool that redefines knowledge transfer. It combines technical precision with digital ease and demonstrates how immersive technologies are revolutionizing traditional training methods.
