Augmented reality (AR) describes a technology in which digital content is superimposed onto the real environment. Instead of creating a completely virtual world, AR supplements the real world with additional information, 3D objects, animations, or interactive elements.

AR usually works via smartphones, tablets, or special glasses. The camera captures the environment, while sensors such as GPS, gyroscopes, and motion detection determine the position and orientation. Software then calculates where digital elements need to be placed in the room so that they appear stable and realistic.

For example, a virtual product can appear on a table, a construction plan can be displayed directly on a construction site, or an interactive filter can change a face in real time.

Augmented reality is now used in marketing, industry, medicine, education, and entertainment. It creates new opportunities to make complex content understandable, attract attention, and make experiences more intense. AR connects the physical world with digital ideas.
