Take advantage of all the benefits and possibilities that a standalone application has to offer. This allowed us to develop platform-independently and integrate AR frameworks. Data exchange via UDP was also implemented to enable communication with optional trade fair technology. iOS and Windows were used as platforms.

Expansion of the HAWE Mick app
Initial Situation
For BAUMA 2023, one of the world’s most important trade fairs for construction machinery, Logan Five created an interactive app on behalf of HAWE Hydraulics SE that runs on multiple platforms. On the one hand, a tablet was used for mobile control and AR functionality. On the other hand, there was a Windows system that generated the image transmission to the large screen from the animation. The Windows application also ran the interface for hardware control with the movable control levers, which synchronized with the tablet control. It was essentially like controlling a virtual twin on the tablet. For BAUMA 2025, this application was expanded to include another use case (spider lift).
In this multi-platform application, we also visualize the technology from HAWE Hydraulik SE and can simulate the functions in a digital twin. Ideal for trade fairs. Ideal for exhibitions and also for direct sales.
Windows application for the VIPR intelligent valve unit
The Task
How can the complex processes of a modern, intelligent valve unit be presented in a comprehensible and visually appealing way? The challenge was to visualize power flows, pressure curves, and energy recovery in such a way that both technical experts and decision-makers could immediately understand the advantages of the VIPR unit—without a physical machine on site. Simply explained using two selectable examples.
The Implementation
The application was developed using Unity and shows two practical scenarios:
- Telescopic handler – illustration of the tensile and compressive forces in the lifting hydraulics.
- Harvester winch – visualization of rope tension, pulling force, and energy recovery.
- An integrated circuit diagram mode allows you to look inside the control system: Here you can track the distribution paths of the hydraulics – you can see where pressure is generated and where negative pressure is present.
The control system itself offers two operating modes:
- Industrial joystick control, as actually installed in the machines.
- Touch control on the monitor, enabling use at trade fairs worldwide.
- This allows the technology to be presented flexibly—without the need for complex hardware or machine setup.
The Result
The HAWE VIPR application impressively demonstrates the advantages of AI-supported hydraulic systems: precise control, energy efficiency, and transparency in function. It combines technical depth with interactive comprehensibility—a tool that makes it easier for engineers, developers, and customers alike to access complex systems.
At BAUMA 2025, HAWE Hydraulik SE showcased various areas of application for the VIPR intelligent valve unit, which can be optimally displayed in mixed reality.
Conclusion
With the VIPR application, HAWE Hydraulik SE has gained a presentation tool that makes technology tangible – interactive, scalable, and future-proof. Logan Five has created a digital exhibit that showcases hydraulics in its most intelligent form – controllable, visible, understandable.
